I am here to inspire, prepare and empower you in a non-judgemental way to meet your personal feeding goals. I am an infant feeding expert. And together with my experience in postpartum education and care I will teach you the necessary skills to feed and care for your newborn(s). Getting coaching and guidance from a singular, qualified voice is impactful.

In-home postpartum lactation consultation by a board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) is charged a flat rate, so we can focus on resolving breastfeeding and feeding challenges in a relaxed manner without worrying that distractions at home may lengthen the visit.
Services have been suspended due to COVID 19.
What Happens During a Postpartum Lactation Consult
- A Consent Form must be filled out and returned before consult
- Most in-home consults last 2 hours, sometimes a little less, sometimes longer.
- Please make sure you eat before the lactation consultant arrives, so you are not hungry during the visit. Please make sure not to tidy up before the LC arrives. She’s there to see you and your baby(ies), not your home.
- Take a detailed health history of you and your baby(ies)
- Take a detailed history of the birth and breastfeeding experience
- Assess your breast anatomy
- Assess and weigh the baby(ies)
- Get you and your baby(ies) together comfortably
- Observe you and your baby(ies) breastfeeding or attempting to latch
- Assist with refining breastfeeding technique and positioning
- Gently assist non-latching babies to latch and breastfeed
- If supplemental feedings are medically necessary I will teach you techniques that will support breastfeeding
- Create a follow-up lactation/feeding care plan
- Follow-up with you until feeding is on track
- Because of my postpartum experience you will get additional instructions regarding newborn care such as swaddling, holding, reviewing baby signs and cues, understanding expectations vs reality, growth spurts and impact on feeding and sleep and so much more.
